This is the 8th and final marketing blog and will be covering the use of Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is the use of a third party with an already existing audience (such as a Youtuber or Influencer) to help advertise your game. This is usually done by contacting said third party, showing your game, and giving them money to show it off.  (Practice, 2020)
There are a few ways this can be done: 

- Let's Play. A let's play is a full playthrough of a game from start to finish that has been recorded and put online to a video streaming service such as YouTube. It can help get lots of views and show your game in it's entirety, but may put some people off buying it as they have already seen the entire game. Works better if it's not story driven. 

- Paid Advertisment. This could be a short clip somewhere in the video where the creator stops whatever they are talking about and mentions your game/website/brand and how you helped pay for said video. A good example of this is the youtube channel Mustard, who do a lot of educational videos on vehicles and in a lot of videos have been sponsored by SkillShare. - E-sports/speedrunning. These two aren't used as much for starting to advertise your game, but to help boost it when you already have a following. Holding e-sports tournaments to show people what pro players play like, or having speedruns up showing how good people are at your game is a good way to entice people from those communities into playing the game and puting a lot of time into it. 

Overall, Affiliate Marketing can be super helpful, specially if you get in with the right content creator, but they can also be super expensive. It's best to find some sort of medium when it comes to this.
