Marketing Blog 6 - Mobile Marketing
This is the 6th marketing blog, and will be covering 2 different mobile marketing techniqies.
1. Mobile Webpge and Email Optimisation - This means making sure your website and pages, as well as any emails you send out, are just as visable and easy to use as it would be on a computer. With most people using their mobile phone to open emails and use the web at some point, it's vitally important that they get the best experience possible and dont have any issues with with they are trying to do, as it can easy turn them away.
There are a few ways to help do this, such as:
- Keeping Menus short
- Make it easy and clear how to get back to the home page
- Keep any promotions and ads small and un-intrusive
- Have an easy to use and find search bar
- Add filters
There are many other tips too, those are just a few. (What Makes a Good Mobile Site? | Web Fundamentals | Google Developers, 2020)
2. Push Notifications - Push notifications are the notifications you get sent directly to your phone from the app. They are a good way of giving you information such as in-game timers resetting, events happening or any sales going on the user may be interested in.
The main downside to push notifications are that they aren't all that easy to do for non mobile games, and they also require a users permission to be activated so they may not even be used at all. They are mostly good for people that are activley involved in your game/app and that's it. (Welch and Welch, 2020)
